Parent's Personal Planning
An adaptation of the Government's Career and Personal Planning Curriculum
Summary Statement:

4 Hear, 0 Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
9 Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.
13 Fear the LORD your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name. 14 Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you;
Parental Objectives :
Christian parents will:
1. Love the LORD our God with all their hearts and with all their souls and with all their strength. "Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart." Ps. 119:2
2. Have the above commandment always on their own hearts. "I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands." Ps. 119:10
3. Diligently impress God's precepts upon their children. "Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous laws." Ps. 119:164.
4. Talk about God's decrees when you sit at home with your children. "May my tongue sing of your word, for all your commands are righteous." Ps 119:172
5. Discuss with your children what it means to love the LORD when you walk along the road. "Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD." Ps. 119:1
6. Meditate with your children on the love of the LORD before you go to bed. "You are my portion, 0 Lord." Ps. 119:57
7. Proclaim to your children, God's might word and his mighty acts when you get up. "Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long." Ps. 119: 97
8. Tie God's law on their children's hands so that when they reach they will be reminded of God's truth. "I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word." Ps. 119:15-16
9. Bind God's truth before your children's eyes so that they will be reminded to meditate on the LORD. "Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law." Ps 119:18
10. Write the command to "love God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength" on the door frames of your house.
11. Create banners to put on your gates to remind your children that "as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15
