Chapel Buzz!! Dan Knorr

It’s that time again……

Well for those of you who do not know who I am or what I am doing here, my name is Dan Knorr and I am the HCS/HCOS chaplain. Last year we launched a chapel time for students, teachers and even whole families to enjoy. HCOS chapels include an audio/visual biblical teaching and chat room session with myself, Pastor Dan. Last year topics went on a wide variety from serving, to discipleship and all these topics are archived at http://courses.onlineschool.ca/chapel/index.html and this is the location where the new sessions can be accessed.

I am very excited to see what the Lord is going to do this year in and through the chapel times. I believe that the power and presence of God is very real and is not limited by distance. Last year we began to see and hear testimonies of how God is touching and changing people more and more into the likeness of His son Jesus Christ and empowering them with His Spirit. I believe last year was just a taste of what the Lord wants to do in HCOS, and I believe this year we are going to be entering a new level as we see more and more people eager to participate in these times and a greater release of the kingdom of God.

I have a passion to impart the Word of God into students’ hearts and see it take life as they implement the teachings into day to day life. I anticipate great testimonies as we see the Lord move in a way new to online education. I myself have been blown away at how present God can be even through a chat room setting. It is great to know that our God is not limited by time or space, but that He is bigger than we even can imagine and that His Spirit is alive and well and wanting to bring salvation, healing, miracles, peace, and freedom to all those willing to receive.

This year we have moved chapel from Thursday afternoons to Thursday mornings at 10:30am which is when we have our chat room discussion and prayer time. The actual teachings are posted a day or two before Thursday giving each person enough time to download and listen to each week’s session. Also some teachers are including these times as part of their bible classes and families include these times as a part of their devotionals. If you can not make the weekly chat time on Thursdays please still take the time to download and listen to each week of the ‘Living Word of God’ and feel free to email me or chat with me over skype regarding any thoughts or questions you may have.

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has appointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to announce that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.* 2 He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord's favor has come,* and with it, the day of God's anger against their enemies. 3 To all who mourn in Israel,* he will give beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair. For the Lord has planted them like strong and graceful oaks for his own glory.”

Isaiah 61:1-3

God bless
