Global Ministry Training Center & HCOS sends computers to Kitale, Kenya!
“ We’re not designed to live our lives at the mall, to live our life in obscurity, or to be survivors….God says..” Today is the day to become”. It’s time to come out of hiding….. and connect with God’s incredible plan for our lives.” - Pastor Dave Kalamen
We’ve all heard it. God is a God of purpose. We’re here, alive, on purpose, created to walk out the plan that God designed for us. At Global Ministry Training Center ( www.gmtc.ca ) we believe this 100%. We are a discipleship training school, located right here in Kelowna, neighbors to Heritage Christian Online School ( our offices are next to each other ) empowering people with Truth to live a life of purpose on purpose.
We offer a one or two year program which each run for 10 months (Sept-June). The first year program has classes throughout the ten months while taking time to focus on three different outreaches as well. The first outreach is local and includes a Halloween Alternative event as well as a Christmas Banquet for single-parent families, both hosted by Kelowna Christian Center. The second outreach is provincial and usually involves the class traveling to a city in British Columbia, serving local churches, sharing the Gospel message, and ministering to people. The third outreach is international and again is intended to serve local ministries and to share the gospel.
The second year program takes seven months of the year for classes and the other three for a time of mentorship under another leader or ministry. This is different for each individual but is meant to draw out the gifting and leadership skills in the students.
We are a mission’s minded school, and whether the mission at hand is showing the character of Christ at your workplace or preaching the gospel to those who have never heard it before, if your heart is to be a minister wherever you are, this school will equip you.
Recently, Global Ministry Training Center and HCOS teamed up to make a difference for a little school in Kitale, Kenya, where Global Ministry’s international outreach was this year. In the mix of everything GMTC had hoped to accomplish while in Kenya, ( visiting orphanages, ministering to the poorest of the poor in the dust bins ) we had the privilege of setting up a computer lab with the 10 new computers’ that were donated by Heritage Christian Online School. Thanks to Greg Bitgood’s son, Kenny and another tech, who got everything working, these students will now have the opportunity to learn effectively, and be able to gain access into the work force having acquired a skill set few children in Kitale’s private schools would have.

The fact that we were able to do so makes me very proud to be a part of the HCOS team. To have 10 computers donated would in itself be an incredible blessing to someone here in Canada let alone someone in Kitale, Kenya, where in a private school setting , one computer, let alone ten would be hard to come by.
We are a part of a great school, with a great vision.
