HCOS Student at the Paralympics

by Steve Bastian

For many of us, there are moments that we know we will always remember.  For one student with Heritage Christian Online School, being part of the Paralympics in March is one of those times.  Grace Brulotte, grade 8, is taking online classes and individual classes.   Grace has some extra challenges being confined to her wheelchair – but truly does not let that slow her down.

Grace has agreed to work with SET-BC (Special Education Technology) to be an official reporter for the Paralympics games in Vancouver.  She has been already assigned to cover Sledge Hockey and will be meeting the Canadian team before the Olympics.   She has asked the HCOS school body to follow her on www.studentslive.ca and on her blog at http://gracebrulotte.blogspot.com/

Grace hopes that with this experience, she can move one step closer to her career goal of being a reporter.  She uses her humour to engage people and loves learning about individuals.  Grace feels very blessed to have this opportunity and looking forward to meeting the athletes from around the world.

If this wasn’t amazing enough, March 12th is the opening ceremonies of Paralympics and Grace and her friend Kate will be one of the final members of the torch relay as it nears the stadium.   When asked what she is looking forward to the most, is spending time with her friend Kate, and maybe get a little shopping in as well.  HCOS will be watching and following your reporting – may God Bless you in this busy and memorable time.
