Globalizing & Discipleship
by Greg Bitgood
How challenging is the world becoming and how amazing are the opportunities for opening up for us. Globalization! Four years ago I wrote Here goes Greg again on one of his favourite rantsabout this phenomenon as one for the four significant shifts taking place in the Digital World. It is strange and a curious experience when you write about something as a principle that becomes a reality. You might be saying, here goes Greg again on one of his favourite rants, and you would be right, but let me share the last month with you to give you context of why I am here again...
In Whom Should I Boast?
by Janet Rainbow
I was about to write once again an article about choosing the right curriculum but God in his great mercy laid something else on my heart. We look back and evaluate how our children did this yearChoosing good curriculum is important but one of the most important things in our lives is asking, “Who do I give the glory to?” As the end of the school year draws to the end, we should look back and evaluate how our children did this year. If things went well and they get great marks on their report cards we may want to give the glory to ourselves and the great curriculum we picked. God has tied two things together in my mind to show me that it is in him alone we need to boast.
The Season of Summer
by Sarah Bennett
Summer is a great time for planning. I do my best planning when I’m sitting by the pool with an iced tea close at hand. This is the time when I Those revelations help me plan for the coming yearspread out all of our books for the coming year, mark our weeks off on the calendar, and try to figure out how it’s all going to fit together. We follow a loose six weeks on, one week off schedule. I tried schooling for nine weeks straight last fall and it just about killed all of us.

Bloom Where You Are Planted
by Charlotte Stace
As we planted our garden, placing each seed into the ground, and transplanting the tomato and pepper plants, I imagined one of the tomato plants Do we do the same thing, without thinking it is absurd? protesting, “I don’t want to be planted here with the other tomato plants! I’ve always imagined myself over with the strawberries. There I would be distinctive. There I would be noticed. There I would bloom excessively and produce lots of tomatoes. If you insist on planting me here, I’m just not going to bloom….and if I do, I’m going to produce beans, not tomatoes!”
Neurodevelopmentalist Workshop
by Nicole Terpstra
I just came back from an informative workshop on Neurodevelopment which discussed the importance of engaging the brain and making connections You can tell that the specialists marvel at our wonderfully created brains and trust that God has a plan for order in everythingwithin the brain to support learning, speech, behaviour, emotionality, learning challenges, giftedness and much more. Although they primarily work with children with challenges, there are many areas that the typical child or adult can do to improve their ability in the above areas. I know I brought home some ideas for improving pencil grip for Parker and some other ideas to try to decrease Tasia’s sensitivity while brushing her hair.
