Getting Your Science Project Underway

Fantastic, you have decided to complete a science fair project.  Here are some ideas to get you started.  To complete a project you need to follow the Scientific Method.  It sounds ominous but it really is quite simple:

Your project will show all the things you learned

Let your child decide what he or she wants to do for the project.  Be there to help, but do not take over.  A child will learn more if they are interested in their topic and keen on the project.  It is important, especially for younger students (even up to grade 9) that they choose a question to answer that they can ‘test’ or form an experiment around. Example:  Do beans grow better with fertilizer?

For as long as I can remember, I have had the desire to write and print a real children’s book one day. After graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Teaching through stories has helped us to communicate Education, my appreciation and interest for children’s literature increased. When I was pregnant with my first child, I realized that God was calling me not only to parent my children, but also to teach them daily in the ways of the Lord through home-schooling. From the beginning, we have used literature in our approach. Through the Holy Spirit, the use of teaching through stories has helped us to communicate and illuminate truth to our children’s hearts.
