Understanding Anxiety Amidst COVID-19

As we continue to navigate through this time of uncertainty, it is our desire that HCOS is a place that offers peace and stability. As a school community, it has been amazing to see how agile our organization has been; from leadership, to teachers to our families and students. We are all adjusting our practices, in order to serve a new reality and for some a new way of learning.

We recognize that many members of our community are faced with different and difficult situations that no one could have foreseen. Even though we are maintaining a sense of normalcy with our educational practices and procedures, we realize the importance of accommodating the needs of our students and families. Our teachers are working hard to connect with students to help them create a healthy and balanced routine during this time of physical isolation.  As a school we are dedicated to finding ways to encourage, support and extend grace during this time. If your family or child is struggling please reach out to your support teacher, grad advisor or course teacher. We want to work with you to ensure your child is successful.

For more information and additional support, please visit the COVID-19 Response page on our website. We continue to update it with new information and resources as they become available. The most recent addition to this page can be found under Additional Supports, including resources around mental health and managing levels of anxiety and stress.

We continue to pray for you and your families during this time and hope that Easter was a time to reflect and be grateful for all that He has done, and will continue to do for us. It is a privilege to partner with your family in education.
